“…Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Look! I am going to breathe into you and make you live again!…I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.'” Ezekiel 37:4-6
Breath. Without it, we can’t live. And the more fully and deeply we breathe, the more fully and deeply we live.
When we are afraid, anxious, excited, in pain, relaxing, exercising, singing, competing, swimming – how we breathe matters. Deep, controlled breathing is required for mastery.
We need to breathe deep, controlled spiritual breaths as well. Breath that is not of us, but of the Sovereign Lord. Breath that we open ourselves up to receive deep within, as one opens their lungs to inhale air into every fibre of their being.
God created places within us meant only for Him – for His breath, and for His love.
He never intended that we be dry bones. He intended that we live. And that we know Him and His love deeply, and fully.
So breathe Him in.
Then we will know. He is the Lord. And He is love.
